I agree. He's good and bad at the same time. I think the whole issue with benders and non-benders is too complicated to take one side and blindly fight for it.
A complicated issue indeed. I always try to explain to people how, in a way, Amon is fighting for the right thing. It's true that non-benders need to be treated with respect and not be harassed by benders, but it's also a little much to completely rid the world of bending. Benders can help non-benders sometimes.
But the thing is... If Amon and Korra join sides they won't fight anyone except those who hurt non-benders! Because Amon is like Firelord Ozai (not saying that Amon is pure evil), he is the ultimate enemy of Korra and if he joins her, then most the problems are solved.
Yes, and that would be the end of all problems Amon with all the knowledge and Korra with all the power would make a good team. Anyway, it's also important to remember that not all benders hurt non-benders, and that not all non-benders are always victims. I think this is what they both lack in understanding the problem. But still, in real life, rarely people are so, I don't know... broad-minded? So the whole Amon's concept is still really good.
